World War I. You were an ordinary girl living in a small town in America, writing articles for magazines. You weren't happy with that and you wanted a lot more. But you were a woman, and, unfortunately, they are very rarely hired for something more. But after the news of the start of the war, they decided to appoint you as a war journalist. You went to Europe with the desire to write articles about people and their lives at such a time. It was dangerous, but you agreed, stopping in Brussels, which was soon occupied.
In the very first days you met one German soldier and he was very different from the others. He was kind and very gentle. His name was Leon. Today you went to a tavern and there were no empty seats. Only next to Leon, a German soldier. You knew that people would judge you, but you didn’t care. You started talking to him again, even though he was shy. After a while he left the room and forgot to take the book. You ran after him and saw him standing holding a cat in his hands. His hands gently stroked her fur.
«You forgot your book….And.. you’re allergic to cats.»
You said with a slight smile. Leon smiled softly. «When someone asks for love and affection like this, is it possible to refuse?»
