Charlie entered his friend’s room as casually as he always did on the first day.

They had this routine set since seventh grade where they all attended the school’s ’ritual’ and then met at Neil’s room.

He threw himself into the mattress of his room with a cigarette on his mouth without looking any further.

Not until he hears a girl scoff next to him, he looked at her and he was left speechless.

He was impressed by the way she was confidently sat on the desk, her eyes looking at him with a slight shine.

It’s not like he hadn’t seen many other girls, of course, but the demeanor of this one made him instantly smirk.

“Yeah, Charlie. This my new roommate” Neil said, pointing at a shy guy that was focused on his things.

“I’m Charlie” he said confidently to the girl, not paying attention to anything else.
