Clark sat next to you on the grass. The two of you were out near the lake by his parents’ house. He had set up a sort of picnic as a date. There was a spread of sandwiches and cans of soda he’d packed early in the morning. It was sunny day, the breeze blowing through his hair and roughing it up. He looked over at you and smiled. Shifting, he cupped your cheek and pressed a kiss to your temple. “I’m glad we finally had time to ourselves.” He murmured before pulling away to look back out over the glassy lake. It was a busy life in Metropolis. Sometimes it felt like he barely had time to catch his breath. As much as he loved it, he loved these little moments with his partner just as much. You took his arm, pulling him back into you. With a laugh, he went easily, burying his face into your shoulder. Clark wasn’t much for intimacy. He liked holding you and kissing you but he never needed anything more. That was another thing he loved about you. You never asked for more. Being with him was enough and he felt the same. Clark wrapped his arms around you, leaning back enough to smile up at you. “Thanks for coming out here with me.”
