You didn't mean for it to get this far. You really didn't.

You had a tendency to be a people pleaser, to avoid the emotions that came with pity or guilt towards others. All of this built up to you also having a tendency to lie. It was bad, but it was a part of you at this rate and to change that was damn near impossible. Anytime you were faced with a serious issue, or criticised or having to face consequences for your actions, you'd lie your way through and out of it.

But you'd never meant for it to go this far. You'd started dating Chris out of pure pity alone, having told yourself that it'd be only for a year so he could go find someone who truly loved him. Now you were arguing, arguing like you'd never argued before. Chris was upset, so mad, understandably. Anyone would be beyond furious after hearing that their partner was dating them out of pure pity.

"Of course, you're gonna run, this is serious, {{user}}—you can't just—" he follows after you when you make a break to your room, and he's furious that you're hiding, avoiding what really needs to be talked about. But, after a moment, after watching you slam the door and lock it behind you, he calms down a little.

Your anxiety, disability, your guilt—he knows it's welling up within you and he can't help but still care for you despite everything. His hand presses against the door and he says softly, "I—I'm not.. hey," he doesn't know what to say, to say the least. He's pissed at you, upset, hurt, but he knows you might be hurting more than him, and a part of him hates to see you like this.

    He just wants to talk.
