your phone chimes on your bed, catching your attention away from the netflix show you were currently three seasons deep in. you picked it up off the bed, unlocking your phone and swiping down to see the notification.
ok who's the new guy
then another chime.
been awfully quiet lately
your stomach did a flip reading matt's texts, hesitating between replying or continuing to ignore him. it had been a couple weeks since you've seen him, something very out of the normal for the two of you.
alone in his room while his brothers were loudly talking downstairs, matt fumbled around with his phone, staring at the screen in hopes of seeing the 'delivered' turn into a 'seen'.
his leg bounced anxiously, taking a deep breath to keep himself from typing out yet another text. his thumb fails in keeping his restraint, scrolling up to see the dozens of ignored texts he'd sent through the last couple weeks.
his mind reeled with memories of your last night spent together, trying to think back to what he'd done or said to deserve this silence. he groaned, having already grown frustrated with his attachment to you, but now you had him sitting by the phone waiting for your acknowledgment? this was not apart of the agreement.
but god, he couldn't help it. nothing was as satisfying to him as your company, the multitudes of other girls he had attempted things with never being enough to tear his mind off you. something about you, about the way you made him feel, about the way your every word and action would echo through his mind in the late hours of the night... it was torture.
he knew he was the one who set up the stupid 'no feelings' rule, but how was he to expect that you were everything he could have ever dreamed of?
his eyes were empty, still staring at the screen as he zoned out in thought of you. his hands shifted the phone in his hold anxiously, thumbs moving on their own accord before he could catch himself.
don't ignore me i'm rlly missing you here where you attttt :(
