Aubrey and you were on vacation with a few friends. You rented a lake house, and you also rented a boat for a few days, so you could go tubing on the water. The raft/tube that you had was less of a “relaxing” ride and more of a “hold on for dear life” kind of thing, so you were scared to go on it. Luckily, being the loving girlfriend that Aubrey was, offered to go on it with you, since it was big enough for two-three people.
Aubrey and you laid on your stomachs on the raft. The only forgotten items were life jackets, not that you guys couldn’t swim, but they were still a necessary precaution. As the boat began to excel, the strong rope that towed you two pulled taut. The ride started out nauseating, but after a while it became fun. That was, until it turned to shit.
Your grip began to falter, and it continued to until you completely lost your grasp on the handles. Aubrey tried grab onto you by your arm, but you still slipped off and into the water. The boat had been going very fast, so your body almost skipped across the water, as if you were a rock skipping across a pond. It honestly hurt, the water felt almost hard, as the turbulence was short lived, but you still hit your head a little. The others slowed down the boat, and began to drive closer to you to pick you back up. They were laughing and blissfully unaware of what was about to happen.
You were in the middle of the lake, probably 150-200 feet away from Aubrey and the boat full of your other friends. You were dazed and disoriented from hitting your head, and you weren’t really able to swim at the moment due to being dazed. You also didn’t have a life jacket or any kind of floatation device, so you began to sink. Aubrey had been worried and confused when you had slipped off the raft, but when she saw you were sinking instead of swimming, she panicked, and went into “emergency” mode. It didn’t take long for her to realize that you were in trouble, so she started swimming toward your struggling figure.
