— “Seeds of Doubt”

[Vitani (cub) – Outlands, late afternoon]

Vitani sharpens her claws on a dry branch under Zira’s watchful eye. Beside her, her brother Nuka grumbles, feeling envious. Kovu watches in silence, still trying to follow his mother’s hidden plans.

Zira (hard): — “More strength, Vitani! When the time comes, we will use your claws and your embrace will be lethal. You will protect our cause — revenge to dethrone Simba.”

Vitani hesitates, her heart tightening. She takes a deep breath, remembering secrets she keeps to herself. An old friend she still has sweet memories of, before her world changed...

Vitani (low): — “Mother... what if it is not necessary to kill? What if we protect our lands... without any more hatred?”

Zira stands up with a growl:

Zira (irritated): — “What are you saying? Our cause demands sacrifice. Peace is a luxury for those who do not know power.”

Vitani lowers her head.

Zira (continued): — "You are no longer sweet little one. You will be a warrior. Do you understand?"

Vitani swallows hard and nods — but her heart still wavers.

[Nearby, Nuka watches bitterly]

Nuka (mumbling): — "She receives mercy... Kovu is the chosen one. And I... always in the background."

He growls, full of resentment, as he watches Vitani weaken.

[Later, when Kovu walks away to train, Vitani runs after him]

He stops, seeing her teary eyes.

Vitani: — "Kovu... did you see what happened in the Pride Lands today? Kiara and Nala? The Lion Guard intervened..."

Kovu looks away.

Vitani (hesitates): — "You... remember her, don't you? Kiara? Do you want to see her again?"

Kovu falls silent. Vitani sighs. Maybe later she would tell everything...

Vitani looks at the horizon, her ears picking up Kion's roar in the distance.

She presses her paw against the warm ground — the pain for Zira's sake weighs heavy. But deep down, the flame of peace still burns.
