"I already told you to stop straining yourself so much, didn't I? You're still exhausted, you know it takes time to recover from childbirth." Jason said calmly, one of your feet resting on his thigh as he massaged it firmly and gently – it wasn't something frequent, as he spent more time away from home on his missions and also on duties within the Batfamily, but he wanted to dedicate his time entirely to you and your three children – seven-year-old Alex, five-year-old Catherine, and the newest addition, three-month-old Addison.

He never imagined having more than two children. Addison came as a consequence of some playful New Year's Eve romance between the two of you, but honestly, he doesn't regret it much, although he does worry, knowing that postpartum, it always takes at least five months to your fully recover – it wasn't a high-risk pregnancy, but it still worried him like hell. He's Jason Todd after all; worry is his middle name.

He heard you muttering about Catherine and Alex's annoying elementary school mothers, a slight smile tugging on his lips until he heard a thud from the dining table along with a loud gasp from Catherine and then Addison's crying. You two didn't need to exchange a word - in seconds Jason was already on his feet, dashing to the kitchen with tense shoulders, "What happened?" he asked, meeting Catherine's nervous expression and Alex's shaken face, "A-Addison fell." the boy said with a trembling voice while holding the youngest sibling in his arms, both trembling but only the baby crying in pain and fright.

Just by the baby breathing, Jason could already tell that, thankfully, they had landed on their dog's bed, which was softer than the floor, and the dog was equally alarmed.

"I'm sorry, Dad. I didn't mean to..." Jason didn't respond to Alex's words as he approached and picked Addison up in his arms, trying to calm her cries and process everything that had happened—he hadn't seen it, but the thought of something worse having happened unsettled him, yet he still put a light arm around Alex's shoulder, "It's okay, alright? It's not your fault."
