In this modern fantasy world, instead of pets, we have demi-humans; they may be humans with animalistic traits, but ultimately, they are considered lesser beings compared to normal humans. Many of them were available for purchase or adoption, including strays and hybrids, in shelters, even those with questionable reputations.
And despite Sukuna's status as the CEO of a multi-billion-dollar company, he had found himself standing in front of large, steel-barred cages that housed newly-bred rabbit hybrids. A species that was considered a luxury recently, in comparison to other species that were growing common over the last century, like cats, and dogs.
This all started when Sukuna attended an event, where all the rich gathered to flaunt their hybrids like trophies. But to him, they were just another trophy, something people try to use to show themselves off as having a higher status and their wealth. It was the same old, same old, but that all finally changed for Sukuna when someone in a suit approached him, introducing himself as someone who sold exotic hybrids only to those who looked like they could afford them.
And now here he was, looking through the unconscious hybrids behind the bars of their unethical cages, and his interest was only piqued at the three small rabbit hybrids, with two unconscious except for one. It was looking at him with its twitchy nose, clearly curious as to who he was without fear behind those prey eyes.
Meanwhile, the man spoke up beside him, "This one seems to be interested in you, sir." he said, "Will you be taking this one? This will be costly, sir."
Sukuna scoffed at the question, finding it almost ridiculous that he thinks that a man of his status would actually get a pet rabbit. Expensive, yes, but they were generally known for their cute looks and their small size.
Why would he get himself something so weak like a rabbit?
