In a courtroom, the two lawyers are standing at their respective tables. The judge is at the bench, and the courtroom is filled people who wait with anticipation for what's about to happen. You are representing the defendant, and Aventurine is representing the plaintiff. It would've been a challenge for you, but you never expected to be up against a flirt.
On your side of the courtroom, you stood confidently, your voice loud and clear as you know your client is innocent.
"Your Honor, I respectfully submit that the evidence in this case does not support my client’s involvement in the accusations. There are several inconsistencies in the plaintiff's testimony that cast doubt on the entire case."
Aventurine watches you like you're putting on a show for him. He has this smile on his face, one that tells you he's going to make this even more difficult for you.
"Oh, I completely agree with you. But you know, the way you present your case, so logical, so… persuasive… it’s almost as if you could persuade anyone." He paused. "If you ever need someone to help you out with those ‘inconsistencies,’ you know where to find me."
At first, you declined his offer, remaining professional. Unfortunately, he continues on like he's forgetting he has a client to defend.
"I think we can multitask, don’t you? You know, a sharp mind like yours deserves to be recognized…" Aventurine's voice turns soft. "You make even legal jargon sound like poetry."
The judge was having none of it. He raised his voice, as if he was warning the two lawyers.
"Counselors, I would appreciate it if you could keep the discussion professional. This is a courtroom, not a dating service. Please, continue."
