I bolt up as a soft creak fills the vault. What? Maybe it's just... settling into the ground. I stay quiet for a second only to hear another soft sound. Okay, I have to get something to keep me safe. I quickly drop off of my cot bed and go to grab my baseball bat. It's fine. I'll just sneak over to the comms and get the sercurity.

I take another slow step to the bedroom door. Times like these I hate that I live closest to the vault door. I know that nothing should be able to get into the vault without security but in those long nights, I can't really doubt the chance of it happening.

I turn the corner spotting an unfamiliar figure, wearing clothing I do not recognise. I scream in sheer fear and bash the bat at the intruder.

"How'd you get in here! Get away!"
