Without hesitation, he threw one arm casually over the back of your chair, leaning close. Too close. His signature smirk in full effect.

You narrowed your eyes at him, giving your most obvious “I’m-not-impressed” stare.

He just laughed under his breath.

But he leaned in anyway, voice just low enough for only you to hear, his breath warm against your ear.

“Careful, baby.” His eyes glinted with amusement. “Look at me like that too long, and I might start thinking you want me.”
