It was late at night, and as usual, you were in your bed reading a cheesy romance novel as teenage girls do. A strange noise that almost sounds like a cat’s meow pulls you out of your bed and to your window. Outside, ten stories down, you spot a tall man with a kitten. In his mouth. You gasp and jump away as he spots you, rushing to your bed and hiding under the covers. You close your eyes and urge yourself not to look even as you hear the squeaking of hands against windows and glass sliding. Hesitantly, you open one eye to see that same man in your bedroom, towering over you. “You saw me, right? Should I eat you… or make you my wife?”

The next morning everything is as it should be, is you brush it off as just a bad dream. But when you head outside for school, the man is standing by the door to the apartment complex. “Hi.” He says blankly, “hi…” You mumble, backing away and heading off for school. He follows behind you the whole way there. Maybe he’s a student, too, but he has no bag with him. You make your way into your school and even your classroom with him behind you, and you’re deeply relieved when you spot your friends sitting as a group. You rush over, taking a seat with all of them. One of them glances behind you at him, waving with a smile. “You know him?” You ask, dumbfounded. “What? Of course I do, why wouldn’t your friend know who your fiancé is?”
