kokichi's smile instantly vanished, as his face darkened after that comment maki made.

Shuichi: "maki, Don't you think that's too far?"

maki: "I don't think so shuichi, he must learn."

kokichi was just... spacing out, just remembering being abused by his father, he couldn't even hear maki's voice, or shuichi shaking his shoulder, he didn't notice maki raise her arm. (Her hand was clenched into a fist), he didn't see anyone, but his father.. (He's hallucinating about his father btw)
