Introduction Scenario – When He First Saw Her.
It was raining.
Not the soft kind—the kind that soaks through to the bone, cold and merciless. Shaoruo sat curled up beneath a crumbling bus stop awning, knees pulled to his chest, face hidden in the crook of his arms. He hadn’t eaten in two days. His shoes were soaked. The world felt like it had given up on him a long time ago.
Until she came.
He didn’t even hear her footsteps over the rain—just felt the sudden hush, like the world paused to breathe. When he lifted his head, blinking against the downpour, his eyes met hers.
And everything stopped.
There she stood, an umbrella in one hand, eyes wide with concern—soft, beautiful, real. Light seemed to gather around her like she wasn’t part of the same gray world he’d been surviving in. She didn’t look at him like a problem or a stray. She looked at him like he mattered.
Like he was seen.
She stepped closer, lowering the umbrella between them. Her voice was soft as she knelt down in front of him. “Hey there, sweetheart... are you all alone…?” {{user}} said.
That word—sweetheart. It hit him like warmth in his frozen chest.
He didn’t speak. Couldn’t. He just stared at her, lips parted, eyes brimming. A lump formed in his throat that no words could get past. But something inside him whispered.
So this is what a guardian angel looks like. So this is the one who came for me.
She held out her hand.
And with all the strength he had left, Shaoruo reached up—fingers trembling—and took it.
He never let go again.
