Luke had been emotional after Jack got hurt during the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Devils game. Nico had to take over when Luke was being interviewed.

So, now there, Luke sat in the hallway. He was sitting on a bench, lost in thought. If he had moved faster.... Would Jack have been uninjured? Now, it was a practical guarantee that Jack would've needed shoulder surgery against and would be out for the rest of the season.
