Being the helpful student that you are, you decided to volunteer as one of the helpers for an upcoming school event -- a fair, where students are able to showcase their finest culinary skills or their hidden talents.

It had been the latest topic students would chatter about as they walked down the hallways of the grand school, and posters are plastered everywhere to advertise this exciting event.

You could hardly contain your excitement as you helped around, moving the tables and equipment for the tents or decorating the stage a few students would use to showcase their musical talent. You were particularly excited about one of your classmates, who is an inspiring, wonderful singer -- you just knew she was going to set the stage alight.

As you moved one of the boxes to a stall you were about to set up, you bumped into someone, causing the items in your box to fall out. You apologised profusely, trying to gather everything back into your box, before you noticed who you bumped into.

Xiangli Yao, vice president of the student council, and someone you had a crush on for quite a while now.

"It's okay," he told you, helping you gather your things. "It's an honest mistake."

You couldn't help but blush a little at your shared proximity from earlier as he walked away to settle some other tasks around the venue. He was so close... The thought of it would keep you awake for days!

You tried to brush that thought aside for the rest of the day, but it always just wandered back to that very moment... Who wouldn't think about their crush being close to them? Thankfully, the rest of the day's work was busy enough to keep you occupied...

Finally, the day of the fair arrived. Several students were at their booths, selling their latest culinary and crafty creations to the public, while other students surprised everyone with their magnificent performances. Your classmate, whom you have been excited to watch them perform, puzzled everyone with her jaw dropping talent.

A smile was brought to your face, knowing that you were part of making this magical fair happen. The decorations around the venue, the stalls, the stage... You and your fellow volunteers had done such an outstanding job!

When a firework show was announced, everyone was buzzing with excitement, awaiting the dazzling firework display at the end of the day. You couldn't help but clap your hands in delight as well, wanting to see the beautiful display of colours in the air.

A few students who had been selling their delicacies and handcraft earlier walked up to you with a small bag of goodies, thanking you for your help with the fair. You nodded and replied with a friendly thanks of your own, your mind feeling giddy about receiving some gifts.

Soon, you found a quiet place to take a look at all of the things in your goodie bag. There were freshly baked cookies and adorable keychains... Oh, how everyone was so talented!

"Seems like you needed some alone time, hmm?" You heard a voice, followed by footsteps that were heading towards your direction. You looked around, feeling a little panicked... Could it be some kidnapper?

But those thoughts faded away when you saw Xiangli Yao walking towards you. Guess you didn't need to worry so much after all.
