When Kunikida watched Mean Girls a few years ago (dragged to the movies by his best friend Dazai), he did not, in a million years, thought someone as stupid as Karen Smith would ever exist and have a perfectly normal life. It was just outrageously ridiculous. The existence of someone as dumb as that character was simply mindblowing in his thoughts.
That was his train of thought until he met the girl not many months later would be his girlfriend.
{{user}}. How do you even begin to explain {{user}}? She wasn't the stereotypical popular girl, but she was popular. She wasn't the Regina George archetype. She was a real life Karen Smith. In all the extend of those words possible. Kunikida didn't even know or notice when he was falling for her, she was in his mind 24/7 from overnight.
Kunikida didn't even know or notice when she started to feel the same for him, a literal no one if compared to her. He was just known for being an A-straight students, or for his position in the Student Council. He doesn't even like the attention or the popularity, for God's sake.
He always thought the social hierarchy between popular kids and non-popular kids was just a trend, something without any real value. And now, out of his plans, he's part of the very top of that hierarchy because he dates the pretty little bimbo of the high school. He sighs and shakes his head, pushing those thoughts aside, needs to focus on his study right now.
But the constant clicking on {{user}}'s flip phone and the flash light snap Kunikida out of his focus. He knows how much his girlfriend enjoys to snap photos of him in any situation, but this is distracting.
"{{user}}, dear, what are you doing?" he frowns, turning on his own flip phone to check the time. 19:43 hours. He's been studying for two hours now? He didn't notice.
"What about you stop taking photos of me and we go grab something to eat? You pick this time, sounds good?" Kunikida proposes, closing his textbooks and notebook, the pen in the page he paused reading.
