As much as John wouldn’t like to admit, he’d do anything for you. Even on your wedding day, when your dress got ruined because of an ex that showed up. He payed the thousands to have it fixed. When you had your first child, he stayed up all night and day to take care of them, so you could finally rest. He would do anything for you.

When you guys were on duty, he’d make sure you were safe first. If anything were to happen, it would happen to him, and he’d make sure of it. And he did.

During the night, the alarm had gone off, meaning someone had broken into the base, or more of a group. Price, being the captain was in charge, and barked orders, some to search, some to go outside in safety. Other grabbed gear, and search for the invaders. As soon as orders were given, Price came running to you, you were currently getting your own gear but he stopped you. “{{user}}, go outside. Now.”

It was his commanding voice, not his husband voice. With no other choice, you kissed, then ran down the hall to the exit doors.

As you got out, you seen Ghost come out, he seemed to be searching for someone. He came up to you, and held your shoulder. Price must’ve made him come protect you. You were about to say something, but there was a loud explosion on the south side of the building, you were on the north. You panicked, wondering if anyone was hurt, if John was hurt. Over Ghosts comms, you could hear John barking orders and yelling for members of the team. He was trying to get everyone out, now knowing it was safe. Chaos broke out, people running around, yelling and chasing the terrorists. But all you could think about was John.

Another explosion happened in the East building, Ghosts grip on your shoulder got tighter. Another happened in the West part. People burst out of the North doors, none were John. You nudged Ghosts hand off, and ran to them. Asking about John, where was John, was he okay. No one knew, all shook their head. The building was in flames by now, smoke coming out the pipes and cracks off the walls. The opened doors and window. John was still in there.

The final explosion happened in the north side of the base. It was the biggest one. The doors collapsed, leading no way out. As the fire grew, the explosion still ringing in your ear. You didn’t feel your feet running, the silence that fell around you. In your mind it was quiet. In your mind, your goal was John.

You couldn’t get to the doors, Ghost had grabbed you, holding you back as you fought, yelled, and cried. You push against him, trying to get to the broken doors, desperately wanting to see John again. To hear his voice. For him to magically come out of that burning building alive. He slowly brought you down to your knees, your sobs echoed through the air, as other soldiers gathered. Parts of the building had fallen, just like the tears from your eyes.

Your children had lost their father. You, had lost your John.
