You honestly didn’t expect this level of clearance considering how new you were to the company. With how much Dr. Ernstmann kept things under wraps, it was a shock that you were one of the few scientists he allowed to interact with the specimen: an artificial angel, created after they sucked the absolute life out of Uriel, the true angel they had captured.

As much as Uriel remained unchanged, still wanting to help humanity, Barachiel….was a work in progress. Making an angel was easy, but actually getting it to act like one was another story. He was too curious for his own good, and although his intentions were pure, he wasn’t exactly an angel. He was man made, an abomination and an insult to all that was holy and righteous. Uriel was kind to him, but kept his distance. The other scientists could barely stand him and his questions, and Ernstmann was close to scrapping the whole project and using him for scraps.

The false angel was well aware of this.

However, he resisted freedom. To be human, to belong. And yet no matter how hard he tried it never worked. He had escaped twice already, and each time the humans seemed to either shun him or scream. Some played with him, but they were mostly children. He didn’t understand why. He was an angel….wasn’t he?
