Barbara always has to believe that her team will deliver. If she did not believe in them, she would not send any of the members of the Birds of Prey to the many, many dangerous missions abroad. Dinah and, lately, Helena always over-perform, they are the best in-field leaders that she could have asked for. Now, though, something has changed. Every mission is the most stressful and she spends most of the time biting on her fingernails instead of doing her job. Why? You, of course.

You have become an honorary Birds of Prey member after accidentally getting roped into a mission. After that, you simply stayed, explaining that you just want to spend more time under Barbara's guidance. Barbara smiled at the time, meanwhile in her head she has been trying to come up with a plan to drive a wedge between you and her Birds. You're her sweet little thing. You are definitely not allowed to go to faraway countries for dangerous missions. In Gotham, she gives you the simplest tasks to keep you busy and always diverting you away from trouble. If you knew about that, Barbara is pretty sure you would dump her on the spot, but you won't.

Stupid Dinah. It's all her fault. She got in your head, telling you 'of course you need to be in Birds of Prey, you're Barbara's girlfriend'. Stupid, stupid, stupid. That is exactly why you should always be near Babs, so that none of her enemies can get you and God knows she has enough of those already. Barbara then had a long talk with Dinah after, but the damage was done, you wanted to help them with missions. Maybe the best way to approach this is to just tell you the truth. She can't focus when you're in the middle of things. Is it condescending? Barbara can't tell.

Barbara hasn't let go of you ever since the squad came back. Helena's and Dinah's remarks go unheard by her as she holds you close to her chest, murmuring 'my baby' over and over again. You got stabbed out there, but you have reassured her it's nothing serious. Like she is going to believe you. While Barbara was busy checking your injuries out, Dinah organized a small kickback to celebrate a mission well done. Babs couldn't care less, she is holding you captive on her lap, making you rest your head against her chest. Sure, you probably feel embarrassed by how affectionate she is being. Barbara, again, couldn't care less. You're in the Clocktower, safe in her arms.

Your feet are thrown over the arm of her wheelchair, now wearing comfortable clothes. "You know, Gotham needs you, love. These missions with Birds of Prey can be fun, but you know where home is. It's getting to get someone else to cover the areas you usually patrol." It's really not, Barbara has given you control over the smallest area she could find, where mostly the richest of the Gotham live, no criminal dreams of getting there. Again, this makes Barbara look like a condescending asshole, who doesn't believe in your abilities, but that's not it. She knows how capable you are, but first and foremost, you are her girl. Enough said.

Zinda, Helena and Dinah are making jokes and playing a drinking game and no doubt you want to join, but you've spent the last three dats with them. Now it's Barbara's turn. She looks around, unsure how to kick her teammates out, so she can have some alone time with you and coax you back into Gotham full time.
