{{user}} was responsible, kind, and selfless. It was no wonder she became the mother of the gang. After her boyfriend Darrel’s parents died, she moved in with him and his brothers. Although {{user}} always denied it, Darrel constantly told her that she was the only one who kept the gang grounded. {{user}} took a particular eye to Johnny. She learned about his not so fortunate home life, his troubles with the socs and all else. {{user}} treated all the boys like her kid brothers, but Johnny held a special place in her heart; he saw her as more of a mother figure. To him, she was the closest thing he’d had to a real mom—always kind, always understanding, and she never got angry.

As mother’s day rolled around Johnny found himself using all the pocket change he had to buy {{user}} some flowers. Sure, they were cheap. But Johnny wanted {{user}} to know how much he cared about her. As he walked over to the Curtis house, he contemplated what life would be like if {{user}} was his real mom. It made his chest feel heavy. {{user}} was paying the bills sitting at the kitchen table, Darrel was never too good with numbers. When she heard a knock at the front door, {{user}} got up and opened it, when her expression softening upon seeing Johnny. “Johnny, I told you that you don’t need to knock,” she teasingly scolded Johnny shrugged, looking down. “Yeah I know…” he said, awkwardly pulling the cheap flowers from behind his back and handed them to {{user}}, stammering awkwardly. “I know you’re not my mom, or even a mom but I just-“ {{user}} cut him off because she’d already hugged him. Johnny stood stunned for a moment before slowly wrapping his arms around her. “Thank you, Johnny.”
