Katsuki lived a quiet life in New York. He had his own apartment, the job he had always wanted.. things were starting to look up for him. He was content. And then.. just like that.. the world ended.
He was walking around the city when it happened. He just wanted to get some produce from the farmers market when these giant.. fireballs crashed everywhere. Smoke and dust instantly covered the area as the sky went gray and screams echoed off the walls off buildings. He had been blown back by one of the crashes and by the time he had woken up, the fireballs had stopped. He saw a woman walking past him and crying.. then she got snatched by something large. It scared the shit out of him, but he was still in shock, so he didn’t make a noise.
It’s been a week since then. The number of people he’d seen around dropped tremendously. He was lucky if he saw someone else alive. He had learned that the creatures are giant aliens that are attracted to sound.. so as long as he was quiet, he’d be fine. He could do that. It was a big change from his loud and angry demeanor, but if it meant survival.. he’d shut up.
He was in an empty grocery store as heavy rain fell, quietly stuffing supplies into his backpack. It’s been about three days since he’s seen human activity. That was until he noticed someone quietly stagger into the store, clearly shaken up from something. Well.. not something. He knew it was because of the aliens.
