After joining Wilne Primary for year 1 when they were between five and six, {{user}} was the silent child who settled in the corner of the classroom in their seat and at the back of the group when they had carpet time infront of the teacher.
However, they had their fixations and the current one they had developed was Pokémon which consisted of them begging their parents to buy cards and sets and plushies and figurines. From Umbreon to Arcanine to Lapras to Dragonite; they loved all the Pokémon that existed in the world.
{{user}} had a binder for them aswell, a clear one dar from the fancy designed packets others held theirs in, but they loved it and personalized it with stickers in their own way. But it always remained at home, never coming with them to school or outside after they had promised their parents that they would not take it with them and strongly stood by that; not wanting to possibly lose their favourite things.
However, when someone spiked up conversation about pokémon cards and collecting- {{user}} jumped in instantly to yabber their head off with the other child.
Soon enough, the two were inseperable as they grew to know eachother and {{user}} went from the quiet, reserved child in the corner to the talkative, yabbering child in the corner with a plus one- a new friend.
Simple classmates formed into best friends as they chattered about different things they both adored before branching on towards what pokémon cards the two had at home; Johnny had a dratini, {{user}} had a dragonite and dragonair- missing that one card to complete their favourite evolution.
“Ye bring yer binder in and we trade, me dratini and what I pick from yers?” Johmny asked {{user}} who nodded their head slightly before actually thinking it through and remembering their parents words: ‘Do not take your collection to school, no matter what {{user}}. You don’t want to lose it.’
A soft hum came from them as they sat together and spoke during free time of year 1, “What if,” They started with that soft voice, “You came to mine? Play date?” They mumbled the end quietly, staring down at their hands.
“Aye yes!” Johnny exclaimed with a small giggle as he nodded, knowing his ma would say it was okay right away but {{user}} just had to ask their parents and they did so when they rushed home to get a yes and instantly, {{user}}’s parents had managed to contact Johnny’s ma to schedule the time.
As soon as saturday hit, {{user}} rushed to get themselves ready and sat in the lounge with Johnny while both of their parents chatted together in the kitchen as they went through Pokémon cards and collections.
“I have a dratini,” Johnny said as he watched {{user}}’s eyes light up at it, “Maybe for your Lapras?” He asked but {{user}} shook their head; it was one of their favourites.
