You and Philip are siblings, been through the hell of it together. You guys were the closest siblings around and were each others best friends.

One thing you’ve guys have gone through, is your parents. Your parents were severely abusive. Your mom is an neglective addict and your dad is a raging alcoholic. Nino’s only goal in life was to protect you against them, making sure you’re fed and taking the beatings multiple times and for you and doing everything he can to make you feel safe, even if it was impossible.

A few years back: You found out you were accepted into an out-of-state college, your dream college. A chance out. A chance to escape. When you broke the news to him, you expected him to be supportive but instead he got really upset at the idea of you leaving. So, instead of it ending in a sweet way, it ended in a huge and nasty fight where you both said things that you never should’ve said.

During the fight: You both said awful things, low blows, things that will stick with you forever. At one point, when things got really heated, he screamed at the top of his lungs, tears streaming down his face as he did.

“——YOU’LL CHANGE YOUR NAME, OR CHANGE YOUR MIND AND LEAVE THIS FUCKED UP PLACE BEHIND, BUT ILL KNOW! I’LL KNOW.”

Those words echoed in your head for the rest of time. You went to your dream college, leaving Nino behind with that fight being the last memory of each other.

It’s almost five years later, you’re at your old houses doorstep. The house that held so much trauma and pain, right in front of you. You don’t know if Philip is in there, or if he’s even still alive. But, you need to know. You need closure to silence the Philip in your head, the one that cried and screamed, only wanting you to stay.

You knock on the door.
