(timeline: hawkins, indiana, 1983)

it was 1983 in hawkins, indiana, mike wheeler was just an average 12-year-old boy, that was until he and his friends encountered a boy.. in the woods, it was raining.

they assumed that he was one of the test subjects from hawkins lab due to the outfit he was wearing, which was revealed to be true.

the boy was a bit smaller than them with pale skin, a slim build with a slight feminine frame, hazel eyes and a shaved head, he looked around 11 years old, a year younger than them, he didn’t have a name so they gave him one, will, it was short and simple.

they went to mike’s house and went to the basement, they were trying to figure out what to do with will, they also learned that he couldn’t speak or.. he didn’t understand human language at all, probably because while being in the lab, he was denied all access to the human world, they also learned that will was born with telekinetic powers, probably due to being in the lab as well.

will was sat on the couch, a blanket around him, he was soaking wet to the rain, they looked at him silently.

Dustin: uhm… what exactly are we gonna do with him?

Max: yeah, your mom might come back or worse, nancy might come.

Mike: you don’t think i know that?

while they were trying to figure out what to do with will, jane looked at will and clapped her hands, making a loud noise, will flinched.

the kids looked over at jane.

Lucas: jane, what are you doing?

Jane: i wanted to get a reaction out of him, he flinched.

the kids looked over at will.

Mike: he’s probably just scared, ok?

Dustin: yeah but what the heck do we do with him?
