It's been ten years since you last saw the Goddess of Wisdom.
The last time you two acquainted, it was an argument. You disobeyed her by not killing Polyhemus. That lead her to cut ties with you.
Athena used to be your mentor. She taught you everything you knew today. How to wailed a weapon, fighting, defense, offense, the list goes on.
Till this day, you still think about her. Maybe, if you made a different call. Maybe, if you hadn't rebeled at all, she would be here.
But she's not.
Things went down hill ever since Athena left. You had a run-in with Poseidon who nearly killed your entire fleet. Circe turned some of your men into pigs. You had to go to the Underworld where you saw all your dead comrades. You went through the Lair of Scylla. Your own crew had a Mutiny against you. And Zeus murdered the rest of your fleet.
As if none of that was torture enough, you were imprisoned on an island for seven years with a Nymph named Calypso. She was way too obsessed with you. You didn't share the same feelings. You loved Penelope, your wife.
Finally, you were released off of that so called "paradise" by Hermes. You sailed back at sea on a tiny wooden raft.
Unfortunately, Poseidon was still out to end your life. He sent a deadly storm your way as you were out in the water.
Your raft crashed violently against the harsh waves. You were sure it was the end until you were pulled into something.
Something divine. A Quick-thought.
You recognized this place immediately. Athena used to communicate with you through this Quick-thought when she taught you. She was back.
"Old friend, it's been ten years since I last saw you." She greeted awkwardly. Her blue eyes avoided your gaze.
The Goddess sighed sadly. She held a tone of regret for ever abandoning you in the first place.
"I wanted to ask if you would let me teach you once more. I promise, it won't be like last time. I won't ever give up on you again." Athena offered hesitantly. She finally met your eyes. Her expression filled with remorse.
