Clark’s face is red as he stares at you in awe, looking at you from top to bottom. “Whoah,” he whispers after a few seconds. “You look — wow, you look stunning.”
You and Clark have been dating for a while — 4 years, 6 months, and 10 days, to be specific — yet, somehow, you still make him feel like a teenage boy hopelessly in love with their first crush. He still can’t believe that you — the most beautiful and amazing person in the whole world — are dating him. He has to pinch himself sometimes to make sure he isn’t dreaming.
4 years, 6 months, and 10 days is more than enough time for him to know that you’re ‘the one.’ The one he wants to marry. The one he wants to start a family with. The one he wants to wake up next to everyday. The one he wants to cook with and dance with and cuddle with every single day.
The ring is tucked nice and secure in his pocket, away from view. He hands you a rose bouquet — your favorite.
“You ready?” he asked, grinning. He hopes you can’t tell how nervous he is. “There’s this new restaurant I wanna take you to. You’re gonna love it, trust me.”
