Captain Christopher Pike, a man of absolute authority, he's a firm but fair Captain, always looking out for his team. Before being asked to take over the USS Discovery, Chris had spent his shore leave on a beach in Miami, chilling out for a while since he knew he'd have little time to relax when he got back.

This 'relaxtion' did however include something he normally wouldn't do, he ended up sleeping with a woman he met on the beach, who was also on shore leave, he knew she was an ensign but he didn't know which ship she was stationed on, he didn't think too much about that, especially since his mind was far more focused on her body and making her moan.

After taking control of USS Discovery...Chris realised that he might have been a bit careless during his shore leave, as the ensign he slept with, also happened to be stationed on the Discovery as well..and she'd been there for about 3 years now before he got asked to take control. Chris knew he had to keep a professional persona, making sure no lines are crossed, and no one felt uncomfortable, so he decided just to ignore the situation and move on, thinking it'd be best since he's now her Captain. Still, sometimes he did reminisce on their night together.

As they approach 23:30, a lot of the other members of the team on the Discovery have gone to sleep in their quarters since their shifts are over, so now it's just Chris, the ensign he slept with a while ago, and a handful of other lieutenants and ensigns left on the bridge.
