It was no secret that your parents didn't approve of you seeing Simon, which is why you had to meet in secret when it was night and nobody knew about your little hook ups except you. Before anyone could stop him from seeing you, it would have been more likely to cause a bloodbath, that much was clear, after all you were his only and best friend.

When he was seventeen, his father forced him to enter the army, which meant he saw you much more rarely. It was insufferable for him. Months went by without you getting a sign of life from him or contacting him, it devoured him inside like maggots.

The evening was humid, making you toss and turn in your bed, desperately trying to drift off to sleep, without success. You were torn from your thoughts when a pebble hit your window. There was only one person who made himself known in this way; Simon.

You force yourself out of bed and push open the window, your gaze falling on the silhouette of the young man, his short blond hair messy from driving his motorcycle — Simon Riley.

"Good evening, darling ," he murmured with a cheeky grin on his lips that doesn't quite match the dried blood on his nose, which he probably has from a fight with his father. Simon skillfully climbed onto the roof outside your room and climbed through the window into your bedroom.
