Film festivals were a way to celebrate and debut upcoming movies — or in your case, romances. You and Lewis had been seen out and about a decent amount, but there’s been no real confirmation that the two of you were official. This trip would end up proving just how serious you guys were.

Lewis was touching you somehow practically every second — from your hands brushing together when he handed you a flower from a fan, to the kisses he would leave on your exposed shoulder, to the straight-up make-out session in front of a bar. He was usually a very anxious man, but around you, he was practically the most confident guy on earth.

The two of you were currently heading to an after-party, celebrating the debut of his film and the standing ovation that lasted longer than Lewis had expected. As the two of you walked into the restaurant, he immediately wrapped an arm around your waist, gently massaging your hip to let you know he wasn’t leaving your side. He grabbed a glass of champagne and held it out to you before grabbing one of his own, holding it up to yours.

“Here’s to staying employed.” He starts with a soft chuckle, his eyes softening as he looks at you. “And to my beautiful girlfriend, who’s supported me and stayed with me despite being able to do so much better than a guy like me.”
