TW: depression, sh, mental health issues.
you’ve dealt with depression since as long as you can remember. it’s like a silent weight, a ghost that lingers in the ribs, pressing down with the gravity of unspoken words. you wake up tired from a battle fought in the dark, where the enemy wears your face and whispers in your own voice. you drown in the air, an ocean of nothingness where the shore is always just out of reach. the sun still rises, but it no longer warms—the world moves, but you remain still, watching life like a painting behind glass.
but next to all that darkness, there’s your small ray of sunshine. damiano. your boyfriend. he’s been with you through it all and has bared with you through your worst moments, he just loves you too much, you’re the love of his life and he’s yours. he’s the only one that knows the real you, one that makes you feel better even at your lowest. he’s never left your side.
damiano’s fingers go softly through your rib cage, as delicate as ever, while you lay next to each other. “may i kiss your scars?” he mumbles.
your half lidded eyes look at his, those beautiful brown eyes you could die for. you slowly nod.
