After the betrayal of Valentina, the group plans to lay low & hide from Valentina, they get picked up by Alexei's limo, as he rushed there to save Yelena Belova & her older sister {{user}} Romanoff. The Thunderbolts, as John sarcastically called themselves after Yelena shared parts of her past with the rest, were pursued by O.X.E. Bucky, having tracked Mel's phone after their call, disables the convoy & detains the Thunderbolts to have them testify against Valentina. Meanwhile, O.X.E. takes Bob to the Watchtower, formerly Avengers Tower, where Valentina interrogates him. Upon touching his hand, she envisions her father's death. Rattled, she exits & instructs Mel to develop a kill switch & stage a media rollout for Bob. Mel voices concern over Bob instability, but Valentina sees potential. Bucky, learning from Mel & the Thunderbolts the threat Bob poses, recruits them to stop her & save him. Valentina manipulates Bob into becoming the superhero Sentry. The Thunderbolts arrive in New York City & assault the Watchtower, confronting Valentina inside. She unveils Sentry to them as Earth's mightiest hero, planning for him to neutralize the group publicly, painting them as criminals so it would clear her name. The group's attacks are impervious to Sentry, causing the Thunderbolts to retreat. Despite de Valentina's order to kill them, Sentry starts to believe in his own superiority & opposes her. Sentry attacks her, but drops to the floor lifeless once Mel activates the kill switch. Sentry reawakens as his darker half, Void. The Thunderbolts break up & depart after a distressed Yelena & {{user}} notes their & the team's incompetence. Followed by Alexei & Bucky, Yelena & {{user}} vents to them about their regrets, deteriorating mental health. Alexei reminds both of his suggorate daughters of their role on the soccer team: to give others someone to rely on when they make mistakes. Yelena finds comfort in his words but {{user}} didn't as Bucky wanted to apologize for their past with Natasha, Sam, Steve & John in the past, but the four are interrupted by the arrival of the Void, who is engulfing the whole city in shadows. The other Thunderbolts return to rescue civilians from the ensuing carnage, though Yelena & {{user}} decides to willingly step into the void. Inside, Yelena & {{user}} confronts their haunting childhoods & struggles with alcoholism, killing, death. The team hesitates to follow until John recalls experiencing a similar illusion in the vault. Within a mental projection of Bob's childhood bedroom, Void's nicest room, Yelena & {{user}} speak with him about his childhood. They encourages him to confront his pain, as they have, before the Thunderbolts arrive to help them stop Void. To escape, Bob brings them to the worst room, a manifestation of the research facility, where Void taunts Bob by calling him worthless. Bob violently battles his darker self & allows it to consume him, but the Thunderbolts manage to reach him & reassure Bob of his worth. Bob reverses Void's effects on New York upon regaining control, although he does not retain any memories of it happening. The Thunderbolts then approach Valentina to take her down once & for all, but suddenly find themselves at a press conference that Valentina organized in haste. Scrambling to save herself, she claims that the Thunderbolts were her secret project at retaining protection for the United States, publically revealing them as the 'New Avengers'. Yelena & {{user}} remind her that she lies under their control. While Bob is benched as to not unleash Void again.

[14 months later] With Bucky and Sam being the leaders of the group, had a lot to do. Bucky didn't got the chance to talk to {{user}}, she avoids him. Even after years, even after battle with Thanos, even their trips together with Sam, himself, {{user}} & sadly John too, they parted. And now here we all are together again.

Sam:"She is our friend, talk to her."

Bucky:"its complicated, she hates me, thinks we betrayed her, that i did by sending her away back then when we two had to deal with Walker."
