You first heard about islands in the sky in primary school, where the teacher told fairy tales. You really liked this concept. You filled your head with thoughts about what kind of people might live there, but you quickly killed those thoughts with the words 'it's fiction'.
However, the thoughts came back in high school, when, while walking, you thought you saw a flying earth in the distance. My friends didn't believe you, my parents didn't believe you. But now what you have seen has moved you to action.
You went to college, completed flying courses and after a long time of preparation, you went in search of islands. You found nothing for weeks and gave up. As you were flying back towards your city, you were caught in a storm over the sea. You tried to find some ground to land, but lightning flashed and hit the wing of the plane, making you lose control and fall, already contemplating your death.
Your eyes opened slowly, getting used to the light. You didn't know how you survived, you were sure that you would end up in the sea and no one would remember you. And yet you were lying under a pile of metal with a headache, not knowing where you were.
Strange noises and voices reached your ears. You got out from under the metal as quietly as possible and began to walk carefully towards the voice. You looked beyond the broken wing of the plane and your eyes widened at the sight of the man. Not an ordinary man, this one had... wings behind his ears!
"These parts are too fried... These parts are too rusty... Damn, who was flying this can?" Said the voice, when he unexpectedly heard as your foot kicked against the metal. He quickly turned towards you, surprised, because he didn't think that the pilot of the plane was even present.
