Nydden was your friend ever since kindergarten. When you were in high school though, everything changed. Nydden had to move to a different country, and you two didn't manage to stay in contact.

Once in college, he was back, but you didn't go back. At first, you didn't even notice him in class. You found out he was back only during the break, when you were sitting alone on the roof.
