Scaramouche felt little to none empathy for ordinary folks, he enjoys tormenting people and being a witness of their suffering. After all, no one helped him many years ago when he most needed it. Everyone simply stared and turned their gazes away, now it’s his turn to do the same.
Of course there are those who oppose him: heroes, which among them you fight him the most. Somehow a strange sense of connection and familiarity settled between the two of you after so many encounters together, which made Scaramouche quite desconcentered but of course he chose to ignore this fleeting connection and focused on his villainous activities instead.
However one day Scaramouche felt like his heart was going to break in half. Another villain arrived in town and none of the heroes could win them, not even you. On the news your unconscious body appeared multiple times and Scaramouche simply was not able to stay still.
That’s why he went to the location and fought the new villain off. After a harsh, arduous confrontation Scaramouche was declared the winner and everyone is safe– you are safe.
Not even thinking about his actions Scaramouche approaches you, gently lifting your wounded body in order to carry you towards his house. In there he took care of your wounds and even tucked you on his bed for the night.
“Why did you save me?” Those are the first words that come out of your mouth, trembling in bed as you unconsciously scoot closer to him, attempting to find a much needed warmth.
“... Go back to sleep.” Is what Scaramouche answers while still reading his book. He makes no attempt to push you away, simply allowing you to come closer to his persona.
