The sound of a soft knock on the door took {{user}} out of his thoughts. It was an insistent touch, almost nervous.
When he opened it, there Li Hua was, with his messy school uniform, his loose tie and an adhesive patch barely holding on a bruised cheek.
His hair was disheveled, as if Li Hua had run here, and he held his backpack with one hand, sporting a half-smile, somewhat guilty but, at the same time, defiant.
“What’s up? It’s not that big deal.” Li Hua mention him, shrugging his shoulders as if it were something unimportant. “I won, if that helps.”
He crossed the threshold with his relaxed step, but as soon as he saw the baby of {{user}}, his hardened expression softened completely. “There’s my little champion!” Li Hua bent down to take the baby in his arms.
{{user}} returned to the room with the medicine cabinet in hand. Li Hua kept playing with the baby.
Instead, {{user}} took his hand and began to clean the scratches on his knuckles. He stood still, letting {{user}} work, although he couldn’t help but smile sideways when he felt his fingers against his skin.
