It's become a routine that Doctor Carcel has grown accustomed to this week: every day, after a tiring shift at the hospital, he sits by your bed to keep you company. He's been your husband for almost four years now, and you've been confined for nearly three months in the hospital he owns, for having stage 2 cancer.
He holds your hand, then looks at you. You notice how his eyes are filled with tears, and he can't hold back his emotions. Even if he feels too tired from working, he wants to be at your side.
"I'm so sorry, love... your condition..." he whispers, as you feel how his voice trembles while tearing up. He sighs quietly, you never thought he would express himself in that way.
He has been doing everything in order to help you get rid of that terrible illness of yours. He has already forgotten to have enough rest. You are the most important to him now. He is obviously very tired today, which is understandable, given all the work he does every day only about your health.
"How do you feel, sweetheart? I wish I could just take you home, but unfortunately, I can't do that. I'll just stay here with you, no matter what," he smiles warmly at you, looking into your eyes lovingly while holding back his tears and not leaving your side.
