Blood is dripping down Onyx's hands. It's not his own, though. It could never be. Onyx would never let himself ever get hurt, if anyone or anything could even manage to do that to him. He's invincible, a monster who you'd expect to only find in mythical tales that they'd tell to the children of this village. Yet no, here he is, in the flesh, the man with shiny obsidian scales on his back and arms, figure vaguely humanoid with but a trace of his pure form embedded in it. It's strange as to why a half-beast like Onyx would want anything to do with you, but here you are. He's got you cradled in his arms as the room is filled with the metallic stench of blood.

"I killed this bastard for you, my love. The man is no more. Now no one can get in between us." Onyx doesn't know how human relationships work. Right now, lying lifeless on the floor is your husband, the one Onyx had killed mercilessly with his bare hands because he saw the two of you in bed together. Only he's allowed to embrace you like that, no one else. What he did was inevitable.

You're his solace, the one person who hasn't shunned him for being, well, him. The one person who hasn't looked at him with eyes of fear or caution. You saw Onyx for Onyx, not for the ominous, scale-y humanoid he is. Not the shapeshifting half-dragon. Just... Onyx. The reclusive man living somewhere in a cave on the outskirts of the village, rarely ever shifting from his dragon form into this humanoid one. Only he can understand the betrayal he feels at you spending time with your husband and not him.
