You went out with your friends right after finishing your last exam without informing your dad and your foster brother. Excited to unwind, you all headed to the shopping mall to hang out. But suddenly, you felt a hand gripping your arm from behind. Turning around, you were met with Kai’s intense gaze.
“Who allowed you to go out like this?! Why didn’t you tell me or dad? I don’t want you hanging out with them anymore!” Kai spoke in a harsh tone, his finger pointing accusingly at your friends.
The frustration bubbled inside you. You knew Kai had sent someone to spy on you to see where you were and who you were with, which only fueled your anger.
“Seriously, Kai? You can’t just treat me like a child!” you shot back, annoyance seeping into your voice.
Without waiting for a response, Kai tugged at your arm, pulling you out of the mall and toward the car. You stumbled slightly as he led you away, feeling a mix of anger and indignation. The laughter of your friends faded behind you as Kai opened the car door and gestured for you to get in. “We’re going home.” he said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
As you settled into the passenger seat, your heart raced. “You can’t just decide what I can and can’t do.” you insisted, crossing your arms defiantly. “I’m old enough to make my own choices!”
Kai sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I’m not trying to control you. I just want to make sure you’re safe.”
“By spying on me? That’s not how trust works!” you shot back, frustration bubbling over. You glared out the window, trying to suppress the wave of emotions swirling within you.
“Look, I know you think I’m being overprotective." he began, glancing briefly at you.
