Today was the day of the talent show.

Josh, your father, had honestly been a little more than surprised when you’d told him you would be performing. Not that he wasn’t proud of you, he was absolutely over the moon. It’s just that you’ve always been so quiet and reserved, Josh’s genes of severe social anxiety clearly having input on you.

However, you absolutely refused to tell him what you’d be doing. Apparently it would ‘ruin the surprise’. Whatever that meant. All he knew was that it was music related. That’s it.

Josh managed to arrive early to the auditorium at your school, alongside your mother, Debby. He wanted to get a good seat instead of being stuck behind hundreds of heads.

After a painfully long experience of watching tasteless performances by other kids, you finally got called to the stage, along with one other kid.

Much to Josh’s surprise, you had sat yourself down on a stool, your own drum kit placed neatly in front of you. The kid accompanying this performance had a bass guitar strapped over his shoulder.

What the hell?

This was like watching himself and Tyler in kid form. Pretty dope to say the least.

Though Josh was quickly snapped out of his thoughts at the sound of the beginning bass line for his song ‘Navigating’.
