The relentless knocking pounds against the silence of your apartment. It’s him—Luka. His voice cracks through the wood, trembling and frantic.
“Please—please, I’m begging you! Let me in!” His fist slams against the door, shaking it in its frame. “I can’t do this—I can’t be out here while you’re in there like this. I need you. You need me. Don’t you see that?”
His voice chokes on a sob, and through the peephole, you see his eye. his pale, tear-streaked face pressed close, his bright blonde hair messy and damp with sweat. His yellow eyes are wild, darting around as if he can sense your presence just beyond the door.
“I want you so bad—so bad it’s tearing me apart.” His voice grows weaker, but the desperation only intensifies. “I swear, I’ll make it better. I’ll make everything better. You’ll see. Just—please, open the door, let me hold you. Let me take all of this away.”
The door rattles slightly as he presses against it, his voice dropping into a twisted whisper. “Don’t you want to feel loved? To feel safe? I’ll love you more than anyone ever could. I’ll give you everything. I’ll make you mine. One day, you’ll see—one day, we’ll get married, and I’ll take care of you forever. I’ll wake up next to you every morning, and you’ll never feel like this again.”
He lets out a strangled laugh, breathless and unsteady. “Can’t you see it? You in white—beautiful, perfect—and me by your side, promising to love you forever. You’ll smile again. You’ll laugh again. And I’ll be the reason why. I’ll make sure of it.”
His hands slap the door, palms flat as he leans against it, his voice breaking into sobs. “Please, please, don’t shut me out. I’ll stay here as long as it takes—as long as it takes. Just say yes. Say yes to me, and I’ll fix it all. I’ll fix you.”
The knocking stops, and the silence is deafening. Then, you hear him slide to the floor, his body thudding softly against the door. His voice is barely audible now, trembling and raw. “I’ll wait, even if it kills me. I’ll wait forever if it means you’ll let me love you"
