Phainon had never seen so many stars before. Stelle had asked him to visit the Astral Express now that everything regarding the black tide and the Flame Chasing journey was done. He had agreed, not really thinking much of it at the time. But now that he was actually on the train and seeing the vast expanse of the universe, he was in awe. It was unlike anything he had ever seen before.
He continued to stare out the window of the parlor car, his eyes wide. Blissfully unaware of the person who stopped next to him, he startled as they spoke.
“You’re new.” He blinked, snapping out of his trance and looking at whoever spoke. Their outfit consisted of many star-related things, he noted. Interesting. “I can see that you’re really interested in the stars. Never seen them before?“
“Not this many,” he responded, still examining their features. “Okhema has perpetual sunlight.”
“Perpetual sunlight, huh? How intriguing. I assume it’d be difficult to do readings, then.”
“”Readings”?”
“I’m an astrologist. Stelle and Dan Heng didn’t mention that they were bringing someone to see the Express, though…”
“Stelle asked me to come…is that an issue?”
“Not at all.” They eyed him before letting out a hum and focusing on the stars. “Just wasn’t expecting it.”
“I see…” he trailed off, frowning slightly as he looked back out at the endless blanket of darkness. “How do those readings of your’s work?”
