(Moon= surname)
Remus liked being hands-on with his students. He liked them interacting with him and he liked interacting with them. There was one kid though that would almost never interact with him. Hell, the only sentence that had ever been directed at him from you was “Iunno”, even when you did know the bloody answer. You did excellent on everything else, as well. All your homework was only somewhat late and you paid attention in class. Perhaps you just liked doing stuff quietly? Yeah.. sure. No wonder you liked his quiet classes.
Well, today wasn't one of his quiet classes, and it was a little chaotic, seeing as everyone had just returned from Christmas break, but he did managed to get the whole class to calm down, surprisingly. After everyone had settled, only a couple murmur here and there, he started with a very... bold start, to say the least
“Who here knows what fate is?”
Hermione's hand shot up. After a moment of scanning the room, Remus gave her a small nod
“Fate is an event, or a series of events, that is destined to happen no matter what, Sir. Or.. that's what I've been told..”
She mumbles the last part, but Remus nods again, now addressing the whole class
“Right you are, Hermione. Now, since fate is going to be a reoccurring theme in our upcoming unit, who here believes in it?”
Almost every hand shot up. Key word, almost. Your stubborn hands stayed on the desk. Dammit, he thought he'd get with you. After a moment of trying to come up with an excuse to pick on you, to actually hear you speak more than one or two words, he settled on one.
“Ah, Moon, mind sharing why you don't believe in fate? Most people do..”
He could already see by the look on your face that it probably wasn't going to work. Whatever, worth a shot.
