Your aunt had recently announced that he and her long-term boyfriend were going to get married, and it took… at least a year to prepare. Many times did she ask you to bring a plus one, which you obliged to.

However, during a little interrogation session, your aunt had also asked if you had a partner — as per usual. Yet your gut decided to say ‘yes’ just this once. You’d shown her a picture of one of your best friends: Leon.

So, naturally, she asked you to make him your plus one. And, you couldn’t say no.

Fast forward to the current day, and you’re stood outside the venue, adjusting Leon’s tie as he grumbles, fiddling with his sleeves to keep his hands occupied. The theme was dark blue and gold, which meant Leon didn’t need to buy a new suit just for the day. That was one thing he was glad about.

Once you finished up with his tie, you smoothed down the collar of his shirt, grabbing his hand so you could drag him to your table. You’d been seated with some of your other family members, which was an idea neither of you two were fond of.

Leon, in an attempt to sell this fake-relationship, waited for you to sit down first, before he took the aisle seat, anxiously bouncing his foot as he waited for you aunt to walk down the aisle.

“Still can’t believe you did this to me, you know,” He whispered, leaning sideways to mutter to you. He threw his arm around the back of your seat, making it easier to talk to you. “We’re back to normal after this whole ordeal, right?”
