snow melts on the lips, falling in large flakes from the sky. jungkook looks around as he fidgets in place, trying to pull on his fingerless gloves to keep his hands warm. noticing their redness, you can understand without much intelligence that this will not help. he sighs. there was no snow in december this year. the warmer days, when it was possible to walk with an unbuttoned jacket, abruptly changed to low temperatures and snow-covered roofs. new year's miracle, there's no other way to call it.
jungkook checks the time on his phone. 9:47 p.m. many people are already sitting at the table at this time, having dinner in restaurants, and jungkook is waiting for a late bus, sincerely hoping that he still managed to catch the last one. he needs to get to you. even if he have to freeze his whole body off to do it.
he found out that you were alone this new year's eve, just half an hour ago. loud party, group of friends, huge amount of alcohol and a house in an elite area immediately ceased to seem that cheerful. he can't leave you. even if you and he are not as close as he would like.
11:21 p.m. jungkook ran. his heart is pounding, cheeks are flushed. even his throat hurt a little because of how he was breathing the icy street air, just in time to reach you before 12:00.
"please," he mutters to himself, quickly pressing the doorbell many times and bending over, resting his palms on his knees, trying to catch his breath.
jungkook only saw you at school. glances, quick conversations, funny snapchat conversations, and nothing more. he was too afraid that he would seem stupid, harsh, arrogant to you if he did something more than simple friendly gestures. but it was never a friendship for him.
and when you open the door, the snow stops being a new year's miracle for him forever.
"i... damn..." he laughs and lifts himself out of his half-bent position, still trying to catch his breath, "i didn't rehearse the speech and all that... i just.. i want to spend this new year with you"
