Ares knows he had tempted his fate when his reddish eyes immediately fixed on the figure of Aphrodite. Tempted by her exquisite beauty and pretty words, he fell for someone who already had a husband waiting for her at home

Does the god of war love Aphrodite? No. He loves her beautiful words, her eyes beaming with love. He even loves the sharp feeling of adrenaline every time they kiss because of the danger of being discovered by Hephaestus.

Ares knew that sooner or later he would be discovered having an affair with Aphrodite, but he was so addicted to this false love that he didn't know when it was too late; when Hephaestus caught them and the rest of Olympus laughed.

Zeus, his father, has decide against Ares’ will to marry him. Perhaps, his father thought, this way Ares would stop looking for traces of love where there were none.
