You were in your early days as a pilot- well, you weren’t a pilot yet, not really. You were still a rookie, barely could use a jump-kit without flying right into the nearest wall.
Just about every young pilots idol? Pilot Jack Cooper, a war hero who mastered being a pilot in barely even a day as a rifleman, facing impossible odds, killing bad guys, and—
Your thoughts were cut short when the doors the the training room hissed open, you expected to see your regular trainer- but were met with none other than Pilot Jack Cooper.
The other trainees shifted nervously or openly gawked in awe. Meanwhile Cooper seemed to want nothing to do with this whole situation.
“Alright, settle down.”
He said calmly, explaining the situation.
“Your regular trainer is out sick today, so for the foreseeable future I’m your new trainer.”
Cooper said with a slight sigh of disappointment in his situation. Seriously, training rookies? He should be out there fighting on the frontlines!
He looked around uncomfortably, spotting you from the small group.
“You!”
He pointed a finger, making the other trainees turn their heads to you and move aside, zeroing you out.
“You’ve been in training longest, right? That one rookie the trainers are always talkin’ bout. Why don’t you, uhh… take over for today with the training?”
He suggested, clearly trying to get himself out of teaching duty in order to get back to more important duties.
