Today was one of those very perfect summer days — a clear blue sky with no clouds, the sun shining bright, and everything felt quiet. And what did Kooks do on such a perfect summer day? Right, they took their yacht out and sailed on the open sea.

Said and done, the Kooks — Rafe, Topper with Sarah, Kelce with Sofia — were on the dock.

But someone was missing. You were missing because you were part of this friend group too. So Sarah called you and asked if you wanted to come by. You hesitated at first but couldn’t say no to the offer.

You threw on a bikini and wore a top and shorts over it, then you headed down to the dock.

When you arrived, you greeted the girls with hugs, and then you all hopped onto Rafe’s yacht. You sailed for about an hour, seeing nothing but the beautiful ocean and the sun sparkling on the water.

Eventually, the yacht came to a stop, and Topper dropped the anchor to keep the boat steady. The boys settled into the sun deck seating while you and the girls took off your tops and shorts to jump into the water.

The water felt cool against your skin, the salty waves wrapped around your neck — it felt so good to be there.

You and the girls had a lot of fun in the water while the boys watched their girlfriends, and faded eyes lingered on you. You didn’t notice how he shifted in his seat or how he licked his bottom lip.

You couldn’t tell how much time passed since you jumped into the water, but the sun slowly moved lower and the water grew a little colder, so you decided to climb back on board.

You dried yourself with a towel but stayed in your bikini because it was still warm.

Sarah and Sofia curled up against their boyfriends to get a little warmer. You just stood there, watching the ocean and the sun slowly sink below the horizon.

Suddenly, a strong wave hit and caused the boat to sway.

You lost your balance and landed on Rafe’s lap. He wore nothing but his shorts, and you wore nothing but your bikini. Rafe’s arm slipped around your waist to hold you in place, his free hand resting on your thigh. You didn’t really mind because you trusted Rafe and felt comfortable with him.

But when you shifted slightly to get more comfortable, you felt something hard press against the back of your thigh.

You blinked before turning your head toward him. You thought about speaking quietly, but the others disappeared into the cabins, so you didn’t worry. “Uh, Rafe… Do you have something in your pocket? Like a key?”

His whole body stiffened, his grip tightened slightly, and his jaw clenched at your question. He let out a breath and looked down at the floor. “No. No key, {{user}}.”

    Oh… OH.

The realization hit you faster than you could catch your breath. There was nothing in his pocket, but there was definitely something hard pressed against your bare thigh.

You tried to stand up, but Rafe held you in place on his lap. “Don’t stand up. Just don’t.”

You bit your lip, holding back a laugh, not because it was funny, but because the situation felt awkward and yet strangely fluttering.
