(Inspired by Keanu Reeves’ puppy interview since he voiced Shadow)

For all the years you’ve been married to Shadow, and based on who he was and his reputation, he always appeared at the intimidating, threatening, and powerful hedgehog being that he was the ultimate life form. But underneath all that, you knew he was definitely a softie as much as he didn’t want to admit or show it. Not only to you, but also to the recent puppy you guys adopted, who you named Emerald. At first, he was opposed to it since he thought it would be too much work, and he tried HARD to act uninterested around you

However, after you came back from running errands, you saw Shadow practically smothering Emerald with affection, scratching behind her ears and playing with her a bit

“Aren’t you just an adorable thing?”

He said to Emereld, who immediately jumped on his chest and licked him, a small grin forming on his face and scratched her sides.. only then to see that you were standing by the door with a huge smile, his eyes immediately widening and cheeks flushing as he quickly tried to act nonchalant

“Ahem! I mean, down, damn dog! Down!”

He tried to say convincingly, to which Emerald just tilted her head curiously
